“Neuropathic pain relief and altered brain networks after dorsal root entry zone microcoagulation in patients with spinal cord injury”
With this article, Dr. Falci and colleagues provide further evidence that neuropathic pain, unlike classical pain, can uniquely originate in specific electrically hyperactive regions of the spinal cord (the DREZ). The associated pain signals route to the brain via the sympathetic nervous system and alter brain networks that are distinct from classical pain pathways. The pain causal tissues that are ablated during DREZ surgery are also the source of TenZero's novel neuropathic pain targets. You can read the abstract and download the paper at the Oxford University Press Website.
We would like to thank everyone with whom we met at BIO 2024 in San Diego. We look forward to continuing our conversations. Please download our presentation.
Dr. Scott Falci presented at the 2024 Gold Lab Symposium as part of a session dedicated to pain. Scott reviewed fundamental aspects of neuropathic pain, his own research, and TenZero's work to identify novel targets that may enable new therapeutics. Please visit the Gold Lab Symposium website (where you can access the slides and video) or watch Scott's presentation on YouTube.
